Judge Brett Kavanaugh's nomination to the Supreme Court was approved on an 11-10 party-line vote Friday in the Senate Judiciary Committee. Yet his confirmation is not assured. Sen. Jeff Flake, Republican of Arizona, has demanded and gotten as the price of his vote on the floor, a weeklong delay. And the GOP Senate has agreed to Democrat demands for a new FBI investigation of all credible charges of sexual abuse against the judge. Astonishing. With a quarter century in public service, Kavanaugh has undergone six FBI field investigations. They turned up nothing like the charges of sexual misconduct leveled against him these last two weeks. In his 30 hours of public testimony before the judiciary committee prior to Thursday, no senator had raised an issue of a sexual misconduct. But if Brett Kavanaugh is elevated to the Supreme Court, it will be because, in his final appearance, he tore up the script assigned to him. He set aside his judicial demeanor to fight for his good name with the passion and righteous rage of the innocent and good man he believes himself to be. He turned an inquisition into his character and conduct as a teenager into a blazing indictment of the Democratic minority for what they were doing to his reputation and his family. Rather than play the role of penitent, Kavanaugh did what Clarence Thomas did 30 years before. He attacked the character, conduct, and motives of his Democratic accusers. And did the judge not speak the truth? With few exceptions, all four dozen Senate Democrats are determined to defeat him, even if that requires them to destroy him. They rejected Brett Kavanaugh the day he was nominated. Why? Because the judge is a conservative and a Catholic, hence an unreliable vote to sustain Roe v. Wade, the 1973 decision that discovered hidden in the Constitution a woman's right to abort her unborn child. The verdict on the judge came down in the hearts and minds of his enemies the moment that he was named. They had him convicted, before they met him. And once his fate was decided, the only remaining issues were where to find the dirt to bury him with, and how to make it look like they had given Kavanaugh a fair hearing. Contrast how Kavanaugh, who has served his country with distinction for decades, was treated Thursday, and how Dr. Christine Blasey Ford was treated. Ford was greeted with courtly courtesy by Chairman Sen. Chuck Grassley. No Republican senator asked her a question. Rachel Mitchell, a prosecutor of sex crimes brought in from Arizona, quizzed her as though she were a 15-year-old girl who had just been attacked, not a 51-year-old woman whose uncorroborated accusations were designed not only to defeat a Supreme Court nomination but to destroy the career, family, and future of a federal judge. After each five-minutes of polite questioning by Mitchell, Democratic senators took turns lauding Ford's courage, bravery, and heroism in agreeing to appear. Ford's testimony as to what she says happened in 1982 did seem credible and compelling. Yet, to allow her accusation of attempted rape to stand without tough and thorough cross-examination, given the stakes involved, was a dereliction of Senate duty. Consider. Ford does not recall how she got to the party where the alleged assault took place. She does not know where the party was held. She does now recall how she got home. None of the other four she said were at the party recall being there. Her best friend, whom she apparently left behind as the lone woman in a house with a pair of drunken rapists, does not recall any such party. Nor does she recall ever having met Kavanaugh. Consider the other charges leveled against Kavanaugh in the last two weeks: Exposing himself in the face of a freshman girl in a dorm at Yale. Participating in a series of at least 10 parties in high school where planned gang rapes of drunken and drugged women were a regular feature, with the boys lining up outside bedrooms. In six FBI background investigations of Kavanaugh, interviewing countless friends and contemporaries from high school days, none of this wild and criminal misconduct of the early '80s was mentioned. "This is the most unethical sham since I've been in politics," said Sen. Lindsey Graham, "I hope that the American people will see through this charade." They had best do so. For what is being done to Kavanaugh is, if Democrats take control of Congress in November, a harbinger of what is to come. The assault on Kavanaugh, converting a man known for his integrity into a youthful Jack the Ripper in 10 days, is the playbook for what is planned for Trump. The Kavanaugh lynching is a dress rehearsal for the impeachment of Donald Trump. And the best way to fight impeachment is the way the judge fought Thursday. Tom Cotton: Dems Turned ‘Advice and Consent’ into ‘Search and Destroy’32838 30 Sep 2018 Sunday on CBS’s “Face The Nation,” Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) echoed Supreme Court associate justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s words and said Democrats behavior through the confirmation process for Kavanaugh was a “search and destroy mission.” https://youtu.be/wPouKN05IDo Partial transcript as follows: JOHN DICKERSON: We are joined now by Arkansas Republican Senator Tom Cotton. Welcome Senator. After watching the hearings- you were a supporter of Brett Kavanaugh’s, how did you process the new information that came out in the hearings? SENATOR TOM COTTON: Well John, first off, let’s understand what we had to have this hearing. Miss Ford made these allegations in a confidential letter to Dianne Feinstein in July, shortly after Brett Kavanaugh was nominated. The very night he was nominated, Chuck Schumer, the Democratic leader, said that he would do everything in his power to stop the nomination. And that’s what happened. For three months, the Democrats have turned the advise and consent process into a search and destroy mission. These allegations are completely unsupported by any evidence. What evidence there is to a 36 year old claim, all support Judge Kavanaugh’s denial. But the- the Democrats have disgraced this process and the United States Senate in the orchestrated smear campaign of character assassination they’ve run against Judge Kavanaugh. DICKERSON: Their argument of course, was that Dr. Ford asked to have this held in confidentiality and that they tried to do that. And that’s what it was– COTTON: So- so let me DICKERSON: But I- I actually– COTTON: No no no no no. No, John let me talk to you about that. Let me talk to your listeners about- or your viewers about that. There is a well established process of confidentiality on the committee. Dianne Feinstein could have showed that letter to Chuck Grassley and the two of them, as the leaders of that committee could have shared it with the FBI who could have discreetly conducted this inquiry in July and in August without betraying Miss Ford’s confidences. And they have betrayed her. They pointed her to lawyers who lied to her and did not tell her that the committee staff was willing to go to California to interview her. All that- now all of that is water under the bridge. Those lawyers are going to face a D.C. bar investigation into their misconduct. Dianne Feinstein and her staff is going to face an investigation for why they leaked that. All of this could have been done discreetly it happens hundreds of tim- hundreds of times every year in the Judiciary Committee. DICKERSON: It doesn’t happen- it doesn’t happen hundreds of times with- with issues that are this sensitive but let’s– COTTON: No, John it does– DICKERSON: Senator– COTTON: –it’s designed for issues that are sensitive John. DICKERSON: Senator I’m worried– COTTON: It’s designed for issues like this. DICKERSON: you’re not going to get a chance to talk about Miss Ford’s testimony and Mr. Kavanagh’s testimony. You watched it I assume, what was your- what was your take away from that? COTTON: Judge Kavanaugh hundred percent denied these allegations. There is not a single bit of corroborating evidence. Every evidence that we do have to include the people that Miss Ford herself named either don’t recall this incident or they deny that it happened. DICKERSON: Did you find Miss Ford.- Dr. Ford credible? COTTON: Miss Ford was sympathetic and she was sincere. She has been victimized by the Democrats in this process, John. They betrayed her own requests for confidentiality. They leaked this to the media at the last minute because they are on a search and destroy mission for Brett Kavanaugh. DICKERSON: You said when we last talked in November, “I think it’s important that women feel they can come forward. That’s a good change in the norms and the expectations of our society.” A woman came forward here. And you’re saying basically she said nothing credible. How can women come forward, if when they do they’re- they’re told they’re not credible? COTTON: She came forward confidentially to Dianne Feinstein. Dianne Feinstein did not share that with the proper authorities. Chuck Grassley, her counterpart, with whom she served for decades in the Senate– DICKERSON: –I understand that– COTTON: –and the FBI that could have reviewed these matter confidential- confidentially. Then they leaked it to the media– DICKERSON: –alright, but Senator– COTTON: –creating- creating the circus environment you’ve seen for the last two years. DICKERSON: So that a woman thing about coming forward will have it immediately turned into a partisan issue, as you’ve done it, her- her issues are not being discussed by you. You haven’t discussed them since you’ve been here. Why would a- would a person want to come forward if immediately the response is to get ground up in this partisan thing? You’re blaming it on the Democrats, fine. But she’s still a human being who has come forward. How should she be– COTTON: –John– DICKERSON: –How do you process what she said? COTTON: John, any impact that this entire episode has had on women’s willingness to come forward and report sexual assault, which I encourage them all to do immediately after it happens, is caused by the Democrats, is caused by Dianne Feinstein and Chuck Schumer not respecting her requests for confidentiality. Now, when you come forward with an accusation as serious as this it has to be tested against the evidence and against proof and we would have known that confidentially inside the Judiciary Committee in August– DICKERSON: –is the FBI wasting its time investigating? COTTON: I don’t know what- I don’t know what the FBI is going to find that the committee has not already found. That- the committee staff has already interviewed all the witnesses that Ms. Ford cited. They interviewed Ms. Ford and Judge Kavanaugh for six hours– DICKERSON: –well, they haven’t interviewed– COTTON: –on Thursday.– DICKERSON: –Mr. Judge. He sent them a letter. That wasn’t an interview. COTTON: But– but– DICKERSON: –So you’re not right about that. COTTON: So they’ve either interviewed them or they’ve received letters– DICKERSON: –well, that’s different.– COTTON: –letters under penalty of perjury. I- I– DICKERSON: –Well, but that’s different. Now, these are actual interviews. COTTON: So I’d be surprised if any of these people under penalty of perjury change their statements that they’ve already given to judiciary committee. DICKERSON: Well, surprise, but that’s why we have investigations. Wrestle stuff to the ground, have a neutral fact pattern. Clearly the members of the Committee on the Republican side want Kavanaugh to be confirmed. So why should people who want him to be confirmed be in charge of an investigation? Why not have neutral observers wrestle the facts to the ground, which is what’s happening now? So it’s not a waste of time. COTTON: John. We already know what everyone who is alleged to be at the party has said. They’ve submitted statements or been interviewed under penalty of perjury. I would be shocked if any of them change their statement under penalty of perjury to the FBI. But if this makes a few senators more comfortable about going forward and voting on Judge Kavanaugh’s very highly qualified nomination in-in the face of an orchestrated Democratic smear campaign, then– DICKERSON: — Was he -- COTTON: — That may end up as a good thing. DICKERSON: Was Judge Kavanaugh truthful in everything he said in his testimony? COTTON: I found him to be truthful throughout his testimony. I found him to be– DICKERSON: — What if it turns out he-he wasn’t -- COTTON: I found him to be appropriately indignant– DICKERSON: — sure -- COTTON: -At the smear campaign. And I-I’m disappointed in what Chris Coons said on that video leading in. It reminds me of the old proverb, “This animal is very wicked. It defends itself when attacked–” DICKERSON: — Yeah -- COTTON: If they didn’t want him to come in-come in and be angry and indignant at their false accusations, they should have thought about that before they accused him of being a serial sex criminal for the last two weeks– DICKERSON: Let me ask you this. If it turns out that he was not truthful about something that has nothing to do with what allegedly happened thirty six years ago, truthfulness is still something you want in a Supreme Court nominee though, is that relevant? COTTON: What-what are you talking about John? DICKERSON: But if it turns out in the course of the FBI investigation– COTTON: — So -- DICKERSON: If his-if his assertions-- COTTON: — So are you siding with the Democrats and now want to have an open ended fishing expedition? DICKERSON: I think that’s not fair, Senator. COTTON: — What are you talking about? -- DICKERSON: I’m asking you if in the investigation it turns out that something outside of that is- if his testimony turns out to not be– COTTON: Well look, as John Kennedy and Lindsey Graham said, if there’s some shocking new bit of, not accusation, but evidence and proof, then of course I’m open to evaluating that evidence but I said I strongly suspect that every statement that was made to the Judiciary Committee under penalty of perjury is the exact same statement that’s going to be made to the FBI. September 29, 2018 Guest post by Joe Hoft Supporters of Christine Ford protested outside her home in Palo Alto, California two weeks ago. CBS Local included a photo of Ford’s home in their coverage. The address has been widely reported online and the home was pictured in the local news. Dr. Christine Ford’s last minute accusations against squeaky-clean Judge Brett Kavanaugh stunned the political world. But Ford’s accusations were questioned when she provided no date, no location and all of the alleged witnesses, including her friend, denied the allegations. We now have information that shows Christine Ford lied about the entire story. In her testimony on Thursday, Dr. Ford stated that she put a second door on her house in 2012: Over the years, I told very, very few friends that I had this traumatic experience. I told my husband before we were married that I had experienced a sexual assault. I had never told the details to anyone — the specific details — until May 2012, during a couples counseling session. The reason this came up in counseling is that my husband and I had completed a very extensive, very long remodel of our home and I insisted on a second front door, an idea that he and others disagreed with and could not understand. In explaining why I wanted a second front door, I began to describe the assault in detail. I recall saying that the boy who assaulted me could someday be on the U.S. Supreme Court, and spoke a bit about his background at an elitist all-boys school in Bethesda, Maryland. My husband recalls that I named my attacker as Brett Kavanaugh. We now have proof that this was a lie — a major lie. This was the basis for the entire story she told the US Senate Judiciary Committee under oath — And this is a lie. Christine Ford perjured herself. The problem with Ford’s testimony is that the the second front door was built on their home long before that date. According to online queries and pictures of the property from as early as 2007, the house in question had two doors in the front since at least 2011 and probably earlier. Thanks to time stamps available on the Internet, we can determine roughly when the 2nd door was put in Dr. Ford’s house. A simple query of Palo Alto, CA building inspections of properties related to Dr. Ford and her husband result in an inspection in 2007. When you link on the same address on Zillow, you see that this house was last remodeled in 2008. Ford’s house in 2007 – there was only one door pictured. Ford’s house in March 2011 – This clearly shows the second front door is already there. Ford’s house in November 2011 – The second front door is there. Here is the same address in 2015 — the same home where the protests took place last week. Dr. Ford’s testimony does not add up for many reasons. This falsehood in her testimony about the timing of the remodeling projects on her home is not accurate. This is a national disgrace thanks to the eager Democrats and their conflicted witness Christine Ford.Hat tip Christina UPDATE: Christine Ford spoke about the second front door at least three times in her testimony. So in a new clip, she talks about it again here. She says the incident in the 1980’s is in her medical records twice: “The first time is in 2012 with my husband in couples therapy with the quibbling over the remodel”. Very much present tense, as in remodel happening at same time as couples therapy. Again, this is from her opening statements: “I had never told the details to anyone, the specific details, until May 2012, during a couples counseling session. The reason this came up in counseling is that my husband and I had completed a very extensive, very long remodel of our home, and I insisted on a second front door, an idea that he and others disagreed with and could not understand. In explaining why I wanted a second front door, I began to describe the assault in detail.” And then this clip with Dianne Feinstein during her testimony. “Our house does not look aesthetically pleasing from the curb.” This implied that currently, today, it does not look pleasing. But you can’t even see the 2nd front door anymore. Back in the November 2011 google map shot, they already had started putting up posts of the wooden wall, and the walkway and new flowerbeds are already in. DiFi asks “And do you have that second front door” – totally implying that she wants to know how the “quibble” with her husband turned out. The March 2011 picture shows the new door, and you can see that the remodel (new space) was in the back of the house; by comparing with 2007 photo, you can see the new roofline in the back. The November 2011 image shows the wood wall posts and new pathway in front of the new door area. https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2018/09/breaking-christine-ford-caught-in-major-lie-photos-prove-house-updates-occurred-much-earlier-than-senate-testimony/? -------- Sept 30, 2018 by Joe Hoft
UNITED STATES – SEPTEMBER 04: Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., left, greets Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein before the Senate Judiciary Committee confirmation hearing for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh in Hart Building on September 4, 2018. (Photo By Tom Williams/Getty Images) Outgoing and unpopular Arizona Senator Jeff Flake spoke with Rod Rosenstein before announcing that he was delaying Judge Kavanaugh’s vote before the Senate for a week.Flake’s move to align with Rosenstein sends a clear message that Deep State is now involved in the Supreme Court nomination process.Arizona’s failing Senator Jeff Flake, who decided not to run for re-election, due to his unpopularity in the Grand Canyon State, hates President Trump. His efforts to delay the Senate vote of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court will be his last act and one that not only negatively impacts the President, it also negatively impacts the country. According to CBS, one of the last persons that Senator Flake spoke with before his announcement that he wanted another week before voting on good Judge Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court was none other than corrupt Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein – Arizona Republican Sen. Jeff Flake surprised his colleagues on both sides of the aisle when he called for a delay in the Senate floor vote on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation, after releasing a statement earlier that morning saying that he would vote to confirm Kavanaugh. Flake, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, voted to advance Kavanaugh’s nomination for consideration by the full Senate on Friday, but said that he would not approve a motion to bring the nomination forward without an FBI investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct by Kavanaugh. Flake was joined by Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski and Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin, both moderates, in calling for a week-long investigation. President Trump instructed the FBI to open an investigation into allegations against Kavanaugh on Friday. Flake’s decision came after he spoke to senators of both parties and withstood pressure from some Republicans not to take such a step. As he considered his course of action, Flake also had a conversation with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who is in charge of special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation. And, at the top of his mind was the previous day’s testimony from Kavanaugh and Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, who has accused Kavanaugh of sexual assault when they were both teenagers. It’s no secret that Flake hates the President and the people in this great country who voted for him. After Flake said horrible things about President Trump, the President has gone on the offensive with Flake a few times on Twitter. Once when Flake suggested that he would run against President Trump in the next Presidential election, President Trump hammered Flake’s “low polling numbers” – How could Jeff Flake, who is setting record low polling numbers in Arizona and was therefore humiliatingly forced out of his own Senate seat without even a fight (and who doesn’t have a clue), think about running for office, even a lower one, again? Let’s face it, he’s a Flake! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 7, 2018 Flake hates Trump and his action yesterday was no surprise. It’s really also no surprise that Flake spoke with corrupt and discredited DAG Rosenstein. Rosenstein has been running the corrupt Department of Justice basically since President Trump’s inauguration. He wrote the letter to support firing Comey and then created the Special Counsel Robert Mueller the day after the President turned Mueller down for the FBI opening. The reason for the Special Counsel is still unknown because the law requires that the Special Counsel investigate a crime and no crime has been identified after over a year. The Mueller Special Counsel in unconstitutional on many levels. Rosenstein then signed a fake FISA warrant to spy on the President and recent allegations are that Rosenstein discussed wearing a wire when meeting with President at this same time. Rosenstein’s DOJ is a joke with no indictments into the Obama Administration’s many crimes and none from investigations into Hillary Clinton’s emails, the pay-for-play Clinton Foundation, China spying on the US, Uranium One or any number of corrupt activities that took place over the past decade. Rosenstein’s DOJ routinely ignores Congress’s requests for unredacted documents related to the Clinton Email scandal or the Russian hoax that the DOJ and FBI created to destroy President Trump. When documents are finally received and unredacted, the redactions prove to be related to covering up DOJ and FBI crimes or embarrassing actions of corruption and not national security. The fact that Flake contacted Rosenstein (Redactenstein) should worry the entire country. Who in Rosenstein’s corrupt DOJ or FBI should be investigating anything related to the President? Who at the FBI can be trusted at this time to run an independent investigation into anything related to @realDonaldTrump or his Supreme Court pick? Should we bring back Strzok, Page, Comey, McCabe, etc. What a mess @POTUS44 left this country in. #GodHelpUs https://t.co/0DZxNnj1Fx — Joe Hoft (@joehoft) September 28, 2018 God help this country – Flake just created a monumental mess – aligning with Rosenstein proves it!hat tip Richard https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2018/09/what-last-person-senator-jeff-flake-called-before-asking-for-another-week-of-supreme-insanity-was-dag-rod-rosenstein/ ------ Father Of World Wide Web tells us his radical new plan to upend the World Wide Web Tech Giants9/29/2018 With an ambitious decentralized platform, the father of the web hopes it’s game on for corporate tech giants like Facebook and Google. Sept 29, 2018 by BY KATRINA BROOKER Last week, Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the World Wide Web, asked me to come and see a project he has been working on almost as long as the web itself. It’s a crisp autumn day in Boston, where Berners-Lee works out of an office above a boxing gym. After politely offering me a cup of coffee, he leads us into a sparse conference room. At one end of a long table is a battered laptop covered with stickers. Here, on this computer, he is working on a plan to radically alter how all of us live and work on the web. “The intent is world domination,” Berners-Lee says with a wry smile. The British-born scientist is known for his dry sense of humor. But in this case, he is not joking. This week, Berners-Lee will launch Inrupt, a startup that he has been building, in stealth mode, for the past nine months. Backed by Glasswing Ventures, its mission is to turbocharge a broader movement afoot, among developers around the world, to decentralize the web and take back power from the forces that have profited from centralizing it. In other words, it’s game on for Facebook, Google, Amazon. For years now, Berners-Lee and other internet activists have been dreaming of a digital utopia where individuals control their own data and the internet remains free and open. But for Berners-Lee, the time for dreaming is over. “We have to do it now,” he says, displaying an intensity and urgency that is uncharacteristic for this soft-spoken academic. “It’s a historical moment.” Ever since revelations emerged that Facebook had allowed people’s data to be misused by political operatives, Berners-Lee has felt an imperative to get this digital idyll into the real world. In a post published this weekend, Berners-Lee explains that he is taking a sabbatical from MIT to work full time on Inrupt. The company will be the first major commercial venture built off of Solid, a decentralized web platform he and others at MIT have spent years building. A NETSCAPE FOR TODAY’S INTERNETIf all goes as planned, Inrupt will be to Solid what Netscape once was for many first-time users of the web: an easy way in. And like with Netscape, Berners-Lee hopes Inrupt will be just the first of many companies to emerge from Solid. “I have been imagining this for a very long time,” says Berners-Lee. He opens up his laptop and starts tapping at his keyboard. Watching the inventor of the web work at his computer feels like what it might have been like to watch Beethoven compose a symphony: It’s riveting but hard to fully grasp. “We are in the Solid world now,” he says, his eyes lit up with excitement. He pushes the laptop toward me so I too can see. On his screen, there is a simple-looking web page with tabs across the top: Tim’s to-do list, his calendar, chats, address book. He built this app–one of the first on Solid–for his personal use. It is simple, spare. In fact, it’s so plain that, at first glance, it’s hard to see its significance. But to Berners-Lee, this is where the revolution begins. The app, using Solid’s decentralized technology, allows Berners-Lee to access all of his data seamlessly–his calendar, his music library, videos, chat, research. It’s like a mashup of Google Drive, Microsoft Outlook, Slack, Spotify, and WhatsApp. The difference here is that, on Solid, all the information is under his control. Every bit of data he creates or adds on Solid exists within a Solid pod–which is an acronym for personal online data store. These pods are what give Solid users control over their applications and information on the web. Anyone using the platform will get a Solid identity and Solid pod. This is how people, Berners-Lee says, will take back the power of the web from corporations. For example, one idea Berners-Lee is currently working on is a way to create a decentralized version of Alexa, Amazon’s increasingly ubiquitous digital assistant. He calls it Charlie. Unlike with Alexa, on Charlie people would own all their data. That means they could trust Charlie with, for example, health records, children’s school events, or financial records. That is the kind of machine Berners-Lee hopes will spring up all over Solid to flip the power dynamics of the web from corporation to individuals. A NEW REVOLUTION FOR DEVELOPERS? Berners-Lee believes Solid will resonate with the global community of developers, hackers, and internet activists who bristle over corporate and government control of the web. “Developers have always had a certain amount of revolutionary spirit,” he observes. Circumventing government spies or corporate overlords may be the initial lure of Solid, but the bigger draw will be something even more appealing to hackers: freedom. In the centralized web, data is kept in silos–controlled by the companies that build them, like Facebook and Google. In the decentralized web, there are no silos. Starting this week, developers around the world will be able to start building their own decentralized apps with tools through the Inrupt site. Berners-Lee will spend this fall crisscrossing the globe, giving tutorials and presentations to developers about Solid and Inrupt. (There will be a Solid tutorial at our Fast Company Innovation Festival on October 23.) “What’s great about having a startup versus a research group is things get done,” he says. These days, instead of heading into his lab at MIT, Berners-Lee comes to the Inrupt offices, which are currently based out of Janeiro Digital, a company he has contracted to help work on Inrupt. For now, the company consists of Berners-Lee; his partner John Bruce, who built Resilient, a security platform bought by IBM; a handful of on-staff developers contracted to work on the project; and a community of volunteer coders. Later this fall, Berners-Lee plans to start looking for more venture funding and grow his team. The aim, for now, is not to make billions of dollars. The man who gave the web away for free has never been motivated by money. Still, his plans could impact billion-dollar business models that profit off of control over data. It’s not likely that the big powers of the web will give up control without a fight. When asked about this, Berners-Lee says flatly: “We are not talking to Facebook and Google about whether or not to introduce a complete change where all their business models are completely upended overnight. We are not asking their permission.” Game on. https://www.fastcompany.com/90243936/exclusive-tim-berners-lee-tells-us-his-radical-new-plan-to-upend-the-world-wide-web LOU DOBBS: KAVANAUGH ‘STANDS FOR ALL THAT IS GOOD AND GREAT ABOUT THIS COUNTRY’ Sept 29, 2018 Fox Business Network’s Lou Dobbs provided his wholehearted support for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh during a guest appearance on Tucker Carlson Tonight on Friday. WATCH: https://youtu.be/uVczqboEPf0 “I think that Jeff Flake runs no risk because as you pointed out he is a lame duck. He found out that he couldn’t possibly win a primary in his home state and withdrew. And then upon learning that, he learned he is singularly unpopular period,” Dobbs said. “What are the risks here? The risks are that the Republican Party is unable to move his confirmation through. And that would be a devastating loss to the nation.” https://youtu.be/gcSw48pjZ3w “Tucker I truly believe what is going on here, what we are witnessing is not only the corrosive political corruption of the left, and these radical Dems who sit on particularly the Judiciary Committee. But we are watching a tenet of what has become democratic Party’s most important manifesto,” he continued. https://youtu.be/1COn0xWA0XM “To deny American exceptionalism. And the man on that screen is extraordinarily exceptional. He is a man who took us through his life over the course of this hearing. That would create the unprecedented situation of a nominee under criminal investigation as the Senate voted on confirmation. Montgomery County Police Chief J. Thomas Manger and Montgomery County State’s Attorney John McCarthy noted however that they would have to apply the law as it existed at the time in 1982. That would mean investigating Kavanaugh 36 years later for a crime that was a misdemeanor (either assault or attempted rape) with a one-year statute of limitations. According to the Baltimore Sun, they stated “The Montgomery County Police Department and the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office stand ready to investigate any sexual assault allegation from any victim where the incident occurred in our jurisdiction.” https://twitter.com/mcpnews/status/1045775094558203904 https://jonathanturley.org/2018/09/29/maryland-will-open-criminal-investigation-of-kavanaugh-if-ford-files-a-complaint/ September 28, 2018 by Tim Brown
On Thursday, following the hearings where Dr. Christine Ford provided testimony under oath without any evidence at all of a 36-year-old alleged sexual attack by Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and his friend Mark Judge, Kavanaugh denied the allegations and blasted Senate Democrats for their involvement in ruining his good name. However, when asked by Senator Cory Booker whether or not Kavanaugh thought Ford was part of what Kavanaugh referred to as a “political hit” against him, Kavanaugh rightly steered clear of a public relations disaster. However, I am willing to say would he would not: Of course, she was part of it! I don’t say this lightly. There are many things that we heard from Ford on Thursday that indicate there is more going on than she was willing to say. Clearly, Ford has been outed as a radical political activist who promotes baby murder and other unlawful actions. However, her story didn’t exactly lend credibility except with Democrat members of the Senate Judiciary Committee, one of which has openly professed to sexual assault. However, Ford claims she never authorized her July letter to Senator Feinstein to be made public and yet, it was. She didn’t seem distraught over that. She wasn’t angry it was made public. Why? She knew it would be made public. Ricki Seidman, a Democratic operative and former Clinton White House official who is now an advisor to Mrs. Ford, said in July (at roughly the same time as the letter was submitted) that she predicted a “strategy” forming to destroy Brett Kavanaugh. She suggested a “strategy will emerge” to destroy Trump’s nomination for the Supreme Court in a conference call with the American Constitution Society in July. “I do think that over the coming days and weeks there will be a strategy that will emerge, and I think it’s possible that strategy might ultimately defeat the nominee,” Seidman said in audio that was recorded by the Republican National Committee’s War Room. “And whether or not it ultimately defeats the nominee it will, I think, help people understand why it’s so important that they vote.” https://youtu.be/zRttpJxj59A If you think Mrs. Ford is ignorant of this considering her father works for the Central Intelligence Agency and her prior criminal political activism, then you aren’t thinking clearly. Ford obviously has mental issues and that was on display on Thursday during her testimony. She clearly tried to present herself as a victim while she accused Kavanaugh of sexual assault with absolutely no evidence. Kavanaugh even responded by pointing out that even her friends said they don’t recall such an incident and had literally hundreds of people commend his character as the direct opposite of what Ford claims. As I’ve said before, I don’t support Kavanaugh’s appointment to the Supreme Court on the grounds of lack of constitutional rulings, but that attack on him was orchestrated, it was political and Ford was a part of it. It’s wrong. Ford didn’t even think to act, according to her testimony, until Kavanaugh was on the short list, but did she go to local law enforcement? Nope. She went to her US Democrat representative, Senator Dianne Feinstein and The Washington Post. If that is not political, I don’t know what is. Ford is not seeking justice nor is she seeking to do her “civic duty.” She is seeking to slander a man’s character for something she cannot prove that she claims happened over 36 years ago. For a quick run down of the political hit on Kavanaugh, take a look at this short synopsis by Paul Joseph Watson. https://youtu.be/Uf7HBOtjL_M Kavanaugh’s nomination was passed out of committee on Friday and will go to the Senate floor for a confirmation vote. http://thewashingtonstandard.com/ill-say-what-kavanaugh-wouldnt-christine-ford-was-part-of-the-political-hit-on-him-heres-the-audio-evidence/ Sept 28, 2018 by Bryan Kemper
I was 11 years old when I was molested by a male relative. Although it was 50 years ago, I remember every detail. It’s one of the most painful memories I have. I have never confronted him, and I don’t know if I ever will. Twenty-five years ago, I was at an abortion protest where a friend and I were assaulted and four men were arrested for it. A woman who was then pro-abortion but is now a very well-known conservative writer told the police that my friend and I sexually assaulted her. We were handcuffed and taken to a police car. This woman then told the police that she would drop the charges against us if we dropped the charges against the four men who assaulted us. [Click here for complete Kavanaugh coverage] We were afraid of this false accusation and agreed to drop the charges. Soon after, I heard this woman, who had a radio show, talk about how women who make accusations of sexual assault must always be believed. I was disgusted. Because I am a man, I cannot be believed? I refuse to accept that concept. As a victim of both sexual assault and false accusation, I’m disgusted by some things happening in our country. I watched the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh on Thursday and what I saw left me raw with emotion. I listened with an open heart. I came away believing that someone a long time ago did assault Christine Blasey Ford and my heart broke for her. I also came away believing that it was not Kavanaugh. I am not a senator, a lawyer, or a judge. My beliefs do not mean anything in the process of this nomination or confirmation. I cannot affect it or sway the vote in any way. What I can do is share my story and plead with our nation to stop the hate speech against both parties. I was sickened by people who support Kavanaugh calling Ford things like “bitch” and “whore.” I was equally disgusted with the plethora of vile things said about Kavanaugh. No matter what happens with his nomination, I pray that in its aftermath, we can all look inside ourselves and consider how we treat people. My relative is innocent in the eyes of the law unless he is proven guilty by a court of law. I know what he did to me and I have, in my heart, forgiven him. But I will never forget. Maybe one day I will have the strength to confront him. The woman who falsely accused me is equally innocent in the eyes of the law unless proven guilty in a court of law. I have also forgiven her for what she did. Maybe one day I will confront her. I know the most important thing I can do is pray for both of them, and I do. I must also teach my sons to be men of integrity who would never hurt someone like this. Likewise, I must teach my daughters to be women of integrity who would also never treat or hurt someone like this. I will pray for both Ford and Kavanaugh — for healing, resolution, and peace in their lives. My #MeToo moment has shown me a lot, and I hope it can teach others how to love, forgive, and survive in a world of hate. I turn to Christ and know my ultimate peace comes through him. Arizona sex crimes prosecutor Rachel Mitchell told Republican senators in a conference meeting Thursday evening that she would not charge Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh after hearing testimonies of the Judge or his accuser Christine Blasey Ford. Mitchell, who took a leave of absence from Maricopa County’s Deputy County Attorney and division chief the County Attorney’s Office’s Special Victims Division to join the Senate Judiciary Committee’s team of attorneys for the hearing, “broke down her analysis” of both testimonies to GOP lawmakers. In a nearly 30-minute presentation, Mitchell went over the “facts that were established and not established” and concluded that not only would she not charge Kavanaugh based on the record of evidence from both parties, but would not even pursue a search warrant for the judge, which in virtually all cases would require the standard of probable cause to be met, Politico reported. Brooke Singman of Fox News quoted one source as saying “Mitchell was very clear with senators that based on evidence presented, she couldn’t bring the case ‘anywhere near a court room.'” In a day like few others in Senate history, California psychology professor Christine Blasey Ford quietly recounted her “100 percent” certainty Thursday that President Donald Trump’s nominee for the Supreme Court had sexually assaulted her when they were teenagers — and then Brett Kavanaugh defiantly testified he was “100 percent certain” he did no such thing. That left senators to decide whether the long day of testimony tipped their confirmation votes for or against Trump’s nominee in a deeply partisan fight with the future of the high court and possibly control of Congress in the balance. Showing their own certainty, Republicans quickly scheduled a recommendation vote for Friday morning in the Senate Judiciary Committee, where they hold an 11-10 majority. They are hoping for a final Senate roll call next week, seating Kavanaugh on the court shortly after the October start of its new term. In the committee’s packed hearing room Thursday, for hours upon hours, both Kavanaugh and Ford said the alleged assault and the storm of controversy that has erupted 36 years later had altered their lives forever and for the worse. Ford recounted for the senators of the alleged assault in a locked room at a gathering of friends when she was just 15. The memory — and alleged “uproarious laughter” during the act — was “locked” in her brain, she said. Ford delivered her testimony with deliberate certitude, though admitting gaps in her memory as she choked back tears at some points and said she “believed he was going to rape me.” All of Ford’s named witnesses, including high school close friend Leland Keyser, denied having any knowledge of the alleged incident. The 53-old professor says she does not know the date or location of the alleged incident. Hours later, Kavanaugh passionately denied her allegation, striking a defiant tone and choking up several times, particularly when discussing his family. He decried his confirmation opposition as a “national disgrace.” “You have replaced ‘advice and consent’ with ‘search and destroy,’” he said, citing the Constitution’s language defining senators’ duties in confirming high officials. Kavanaugh, who has two daughters, said one of his girls said they should “pray for the woman” making the allegations against him, referring to Ford. “That’s a lot of wisdom from a 10-year-old,” he said. “We mean no ill will.” Following Kavanaugh’s testimony, President Trump tweeted in support of the judge, making clear that he was standing shoulder to shoulder with his nominee. “His testimony was powerful, honest and riveting,” the president wrote. “The Senate must vote!” The Associated Press contributed to this report. https://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2018/09/28/report-prosecutor-rachel-mitchell-would-not-charge-kavanaugh-or-even-pursue-a-search-warrant/ ---- Kavanaugh denies allegations in forceful opening statement https://youtu.be/RRmGxgxMhO4 Graham slams Democrats, vigorously defends Kavanaugh https://youtu.be/9GONHkIGagY |
